Meet Charlotte, Award winning Author

Welcome to Charlotte Howard, author and friend. I asked Charlotte some questions so we could learn more about her writing, so read on to find out what she shared. A blurb to whet your curiosity is also included so go buy her new book at the links below.

Did you recently have a book published that we can congratulate you on?

I write under the name C.V. Leigh as well as Charlotte Howard, and had my debut urban fantasy novel, The Change, published in May this year. It’s the first book in a series and follows a family of werewolves. Book two, (working title Memory Magic) has just been contracted as well!

Please tell us about your journey to publication.

It’s been a long journey! I started writing professionally as a content writer back in 2008, but always wanted to be a novelist. I self-published an awful erotic crime novella in 2010, and made so many mistakes! But I learned from them and decided to go down the traditional route. My first erotic romance title, Seven Dirty Words, was contracted by a small American publishing house, before being taken on by Tirgearr Publishing in 2015.

BLURB for THE CHANGE : Kincaid pack Alpha, Alistair, has called his family back to their ancestral home in the Scottish Cairngorms. His wife, Megan, is losing control of her ability to shift and it has him rattled. When it comes to light that Nathan Trevell, Megan’s ex and the lycanthrope who turned her, has travelled from the States and is in the UK, closing in on his family, Alistair is even more determined to keep everyone safe. Nathan isn’t deterred by the Kincaid pack. He’s in the UK for a very specific reason, a reason that threatens to turn the lives of the Kincaids upside down – and possibly endanger them. Being cooped up together in Faol Hall only serves to highlight the differences between the Kincaids, and fighting soon breaks out. Can they put aside their issues and present a united front, before it’s too late?

Where did the idea for your first book come from?

I’m not really sure where my ideas come from. I pick up inspiration from people I know, films I’ve seen, and books I’ve read. Seven Dirty Words came about after a friend had read Fifty Shades of Grey and suggested I try my hand at erotic romance.

Who has inspired you as an author?

I don’t think I can name one single person. I’m inspired by a lot of people—other authors, friends, family members…

What do you do in your free time?

I’m quite crafty. I enjoy watching films and reading books, but I can’t sit still and have to do something with my hands. I do a lot of knitting, make dream catchers, and paint.

What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on a new erotic romance novel under Charlotte Howard. Under C.V. Leigh, I’m working on book three of The Wolves of Faol Hall series and an epic child-friendly fantasy series.

Please share with us a short bio, an author picture and include links to where you can be found online.

Originally from the Nottingham/Lincoln borders, award-winning author, Charlotte lives in Somerset with her husband, two children, and growing menagerie of pets and can always be found with a cup of tea in her hand. When she’s not writing or running around after small people and animals, she loves to eat curry and watch action films. She comes from a long line of natural witches, and spent her childhood learning to read tea leaves from her grandmother and Tarot from her mother, so it’s no surprise that she has a love for the fantastical and paranormal. Her favourite authors include Kelley Armstrong, George R.R. Martin, Douglas Adams, Grant Naylor, Terry Pratchett, and Roald Dahl.
